I Want Both of Us to Feel You
We thought it was just the two of us living together, cooking, cleaning and doing all the things.
All so mundane, stuck in our minds,
so we couldn’t feel anything.
Until the first time we glimpsed You.
Thoughts went quiet, selves relaxed,
Awareness expanded and there You were,
everything, everywhere, all at once.
Your first visit was short, but it left us in awe,
longing to feel Your Presence again,
more beautiful and real than anything else,
that one taste igniting an unquenchable thirst.
So, we stopped mindlessly watching screens
and distracting ourselves on our phones.
Sometimes we sat in silent stillness, inviting You in.
We started naturally keeping our home cleaner,
so it could be a sanctuary worthy of You.
Instead of dreading chores
resisting what we were doing
or being partially engaged in tasks,
we started actually choosing to do
exactly what we were doing,
bringing us into Flow –
by being fully engaged
in the activity at hand.
And in the Presence of the Flow,
there You were again.
Opening our hearts,
we added joy to the cooking,
took pride in the cleaning and
spontaneously danced around the house.
And when we did things with spirit,
You often came to visit.
Couch conversations became a portal
into deeper intimacy with each other
and You were right there with us.
And when we made love
it became an offering to You,
an invocation that You’d open us,
animate us and love through us.
After that first visit, we felt so sad
when we thought You’d left.
Silly us, we didn’t yet realize
You’d had been all around
and with us all along,
but we just weren’t
open enough to feel You.
But gradually we got more glimpses,
Your visits became longer and stronger,
until we could feel Your Presence all the time.
Opening and reopening again and again
loving so deeply until we
became You, Love Itself.

Johnny Blackburn
Johnny Blackburn is a contemporary mystic and a well-respected authority on embodied human development, conscious relationships and the Spiritual Awakening process. He is the founder and director of Mystics, a modern school with an integral approach to embodied healing and full-spectrum development, and whole human Awakening.
With an original background in Management Consulting and an Undergraduate degree in Business from the University of Southern California, a life-changing injury and failed surgery profoundly altered the course of his life. At the worst, confined to the floor for 22 hours a day, Johnny spent 2 years reading, meditating and healing himself from all angles. After a full recovery, a new path revealed itself. Having emerged from the transformative chrysalis, Johnny continued developing through inner cultivation. He earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology, in addition to innumerable multi-disciplinary trainings, embracing diverse fields of study to enrich his understanding, broaden his perspective and deepen his skills.
Since 2010 , Johnny has more than 10,000+ client-coaching hours counseling individuals and couples, facilitated hundreds of hours of groups and led dozens of retreats in Southern California, as well as all over the world. He serves a range of entrepreneurs and change makers, executives and working professionals, and loving couples.
