HEART
In the unveiling of our heart:
shields defend us from judgment,
protective walls guard us from hurt,
veils hide us from being seen and
hurt pains us when unloved or unimportant.
In the fear and doubt in our heart:
it can slink with hesitance and shyness,
checking if it’s really safe to open,
am I safe, special and do you care,
will you go away or be there when I reach?
In the confusion of our heart, we can send mixed signals:
when depressed, we might be numbing to avoid feeling,
when we’re loud, we could want attention and connection,
when aggressive, we may be protecting fear or shame underneath,
when pretending not to need others, we might be scared of trusting.
In the beautiful openness of our heart:
I feel connection with
others,
I can give and receive love,
I feel gratitude beauty and awe,
I radiate joy and exude passion.

In the genuine curiosity of our heart:
my heart wants to connect with you,
my heart wants to feel you,
my heart wants to see you,
my heart wants to know you,
In the security of our heart, we trust that:
we can rely and depend on close connection,
we are here for each other when we reach out,
we can thrive in our bond and as sovereign individuals,
we can enjoy and savor life, making love amidst it All.
